Lip Augmentation

Perioral Rejuvenation is a procedure that enhances the area around the mouth. Dr. Henry Sandel is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, offering a range of treatments to improve the shape and/or fullness of the lips and reduce the appearance of facial folds and wrinkles around the mouth.

There are many techniques for perioral rejuvenation including:

• Injectable fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse and Perlane
• Botox & Dysport injections
• Implants including lip implants, chin implants and jowel implants
• Laser skin resurfacing
• Chemical peels and mechanical resurfacing
• Surgery

Injectable Fillers

Injectable fillers are affordable, long lasting and biocompatible, making them a popular method for lip augmentation and perioral rejuvenation. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane are used for their smooth consistency and ability to hold shape well, particularly advantageous for lip augmentation.

Implants

When performing a perioral rejuvenation, Dr. Sandel may recommend chin implants or augmentation to the jawline and neck. A chin augmentation involves inserting a synthetic yet natural feeling material to change the shape or contour of the chin, jowel and jawline area.

Perioral Resurfacing

Other options for perioral rejuvenation include CO2 laser treatments, chemical peels and dermabrasion.

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is the gold standard in skin rejuvenation. Over 20 years, this technology has evolved into a safe and effective treatment delivering consistent results. The CO2 laser can be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, remove age spots and redness and stimulate collagen production for smoother, younger looking skin.

Surgical Procedures

In some cases, Dr. Sandel may recommend a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the lips and lower face. These procedures include a subnasal lip lift, lower lip advancement and corner of the mouth lift.
